Search every app installed on this PC and drop a shortcut on your Desktop with one click. Browsers can't read the Start Menu or Program Files, so a small PowerShell indexer does the scanning once — after that everything happens right here.

Choose where shortcuts should go

Pick your Desktop folder. The indexer and its cache live in a hidden .km-app-index sub-folder there, and new shortcuts land in this folder.

I wrote Index My Apps.bat into your folder. Double-click it — a console window scans your Start Menu, installed programs and Store apps (30–90 seconds), then closes.

Windows SmartScreen may warn about an unrecognised script. Choose More info → Run anyway. Nothing is sent anywhere — the script only reads your app list and writes into .km-app-index.

Chrome wouldn't let me write a .bat file, so run the indexer from PowerShell instead. Press Win, type PowerShell, open it and paste:
